After an incredible 39 years with Fleming, Ronnie Burrows will be retiring as Company Director this Easter. While this has not been an easy decision, Ronnie has made it with careful consideration, prioritising his health and looking forward to the next chapter of his life.

Ronnie’s journey with Fleming began in 1986, where he started out handling general administration tasks before spending time in the drawing office, supporting the design team. It was during this period that he found an invaluable mentor within the company, learning the art of business development, communication, and relationship-building—skills that would shape the rest of his career. His first site role came at St Mary’s Church in Bo’ness, an experience that solidified his passion for the industry.

In September 1996, Ronnie was appointed Director alongside Mike Burrows, and over the years, his impact on Fleming has been immeasurable. Overseeing health and safety, quality, business development, and marketing, Ronnie has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s direction and growth. His unwavering commitment has always been to deliver high-quality projects that exceed client expectations, and his ability to build strong relationships has been instrumental in Fleming’s continued success.

Throughout his career, Ronnie has witnessed significant changes in the construction industry—from evolving materials and methods to new ways of securing work and adapting to modern construction practices. Through it all, his focus remained the same: delivering quality projects and ensuring client satisfaction.

Reflecting on his time at Fleming, Ronnie expressed his gratitude to colleagues past and present, acknowledging their contributions to the company’s achievements. While stepping away is bittersweet, he leaves knowing that Fleming is in a strong position, with a talented team ready to drive the business forward.

As Ronnie prepares to retire this April, he looks forward to some well-earned rest and the opportunity to focus on other aspects of his life. However, his influence on Fleming will undoubtedly be felt for years to come. We thank Ronnie for his dedication, leadership, and friendship over nearly four decades and wish him all the best in his retirement.
